As the central institution of four research institutes, the Centre for Regional Studies (CRS) is responsible for complex social science researches with regional relevance, specifically, research on long-term Hungarian and international processes of regional and urban development, the globalising (European, Euro-regional, East-Central-European, Hungarian) spatial structures, their division of labour, their system of institution and tools; decisions concerning regional development in Hungary and the country’s accession to the European Union.
