Jelenkor Publishers Ltd. is an independent house founded in 1993 and owned by five Hungarian writers, editors and translators whose main concern is to promote contemporary Hungarian poetry, fiction and philosophy, build their intellectual and international context. The central office including the editorial staff is seated at Pécs, in the southernmost Hungarian town with rich multicultural traditions. Worldwide translation rights of many of the authors are available through the copyright service. Our cultural quarterly, Hungarian Lettre Internationale is edited by an independent board.
