The Győr-Sopron-Ebenfurt Railway Corp. (GYSEV Corp.) is a company with 134 years of operational background. After the border revisions following World War the State of Austria, by its announcement of 1923 entered the concession of GYSEV Corp., simultaneously issuing a separate concession for the lines of GYSEV on Austrian territory as an Austrian private company. This state of the company hasn’t change since then, which means that GYSEV Corp. is a unified company with a seat in Sopron that runs two, from the point of ownership, economy and accounting system individual enterprises operating on the territory of two states according to the regulations of the respective countries. The main activity of GYSEV Corp. is the management of railway passenger and goods traffic between the stations Győr and Ebenfurt, Sopron and Szombathely, as well as between the stations Fertőszentmiklós and Neusiedl am See on the line of the Fertő Lakeland Railway Corporation.

The main activity of MÁV NOSTALGIA Ltd. is the organisation of nostalgic railway trips on restored vintage trains: nearly 50 different types of vehicles, all of historic interest, and some well known throughout Europe. They are available for hire both for domestic use and international travel. Tourist programmes start from Budapest and travel to the most popular tourist centres around the country. Steam trains are in regular daily service around Lake Balaton in the high season.

BKV Ltd. operates 5 branches (bus, tram, metro and underground, suburban railway, trolley bus) in an integrated system. Moreover it operates a cogwheel railway and a funicular railway as well, which has mainly touristic importance. BKV Ltd. serves almost 1.4 billion passengers, out of these the bus branch takes 41%, the tram 26 %, the metro and underground 22 %, the suburban railway 5% and the trolleybus branch 6 %. Volánbusz operates most of the international and domestic coaches from Budapest, and also the regional lines and the ones traversing the agglomeration. Transfers are available to Spain from Milan, to Portugal and Southern-France from Vienna, to Great Britain’s 75 cities from London, to Vilnius fom Vienna and Oslo from Göteborg. Volánbusz operates 500 domestic distance coaches to 100 cities of the country daily, creating a direct link between 17 counties and the most important regions and resorts of the country and Budapest. During the day there are coaches in every hour or more often in the direction of Eger, Salgótarján, Gyöngyös, Jászberény, Kecskemét, Székesfehérvár, Veszprém, Tatabánya and Gyõr, many lines go to the Mátra, the great plain, lake Balaton or other destinations.
