Maria Nagy, founder of Obuda, grew up in Hungary. In 1972, Maria left Budapest, Hungary and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she continued serving traditional Hungarian dishes to her beloved family. Since 2000, Maria has been donating her catering services to local organizations to supplement their fund raiser auctions. From there, Maria began providing Hungarian desserts to local Atlanta European delis and coffee shops, as well as taking individual orders on special occasions. In response to the growing demand, Maria officially launched Obuda in mid-2005 offering authentic Hungarian desserts and in-home catering services.
