Hagymási József – head of Kőkút Borház family business, viticulturist and qualified oenologist- started his career at Eger Viticulture and Viniculture Research Station. Soon he found himself in the capital working for the highly esteemed Gundel Restaurant. Originally he began to organise his private winery and cellars on a modest 5 ha estate. Today his estates measure 21 ha completed by his cellars in Szépasszonyvölgy – a locally acknowledged wine tasting area. Here bottled and running versions of their Chardonnay, Egri Bikavér, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé and Cserszegi Fűszeres are available. At present their concept gives priority to planting vinegrapes on further 5 ha privately owned premium quality land – known as Apóhát.
